The first 3 films had stuntman (technically not an actor) Bob Simmons do this sequence before Sean Connery took over in Thunderball. In the new movie Casino Royale there is no traditonal gun barrel sequence at the start of the film instead they use a flash back where Bond spins in shoots into the camera then you see the gun barrel close around him (technically not the same as the others).
